FRACTURED MINDS

The number of young people facing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder is on the rise. There are specific reasons why these problems often occur during the transition to adulthood.

I want to enhance understanding of these emotional states by accurately describing different mental illnesses, in order to provide insight for thosewho have limited experience with such problems.

Fractured Minds goes beyond being just an art project, as it has a greater purpose than just fashion. The focus is on delivering information and offering people a glimpse into the everyday struggles faced by individuals with various mental illnesses. I also know that Fractured Minds, our portrayal of mental illnesses, only scratches the surface since there are many more mental health conditions than I showed in my collection.

To stay true to the concept, I didn‘t use any new fabrics for the collection, but cut up old denim and used leftover fabrics from my warehousefor the garments, to minimize the impact on the environment and not to waste anything.
